Dinosaurs!

My son absolutely loves Dinosaurs.  I am not sure why but it seems all boys just automatically love Dinos!

Today we received a big package from my Mother and it had some awesome stuff in it. One of the coolest things was the Velcro crafts! These where $5.00 each and my Mom found them on clearance for $.50. (she is so savvy) They are really neat they are felt cutouts with an adhesive on the back. They come with clips with Velcro on them. The idea is to put them on the wall and turn them into hooks to hold pictures and so on. One of the packages had dinosaurs. There are 12 dinosaurs total, but only 4 types. As soon as I seen them my "craft  brain" got to working.  I decided to make a game for Dominic to learn matching, colors and the dinosaurs names.

Supplies:
*Velcro Crafts-Dinosaurs
*Card Stock for background
*Create and print out Name and Color Cards
*Sheet protector for keeping the game nice while put up
*Zip lock baggies to hold the Dinosaurs and Cards

How I created the game:

First: After checking out the Velcro crafts contents I picked out 8 of the dinosaurs to mount onto the cardstock.  One page had 4 dinosaurs each a different color, the second page had the same 4 dinos in a different order. These dinos where facing the opposite direction.  I thought this would be a good way for him to learn matching by thinking and not just holding them over each other and matching the perfect ones. I then created Name, and Color cards and print them out on cardstock for durability.
Next: I took the 4 remaining dinos and added the clips to them. These will be the dinosaurs we use to Match to the dinos mounted on the paper.
Dominic really enjoyed playing the matching game.  I would tell him the name of the dinosaurs and tell him details about each of them. Example the T-Rex has a really big mouth and short arms. I was really impressed how well he did matching each of the dinosaurs!!

After we matching the dinosaurs a couple rounds we decided to work on color identification. I placed the clips on the color name cards and told him what each said.
Dominic is only 2 and doesn't recognize colors by their names just yet so I got out some of our color flash cards so I could show the colors we were working on.  Again Dominic did a great job.  He matching Red and green perfectly every time!
We worked on colors for a little bit and then I showed him the Name cards. They are a bit too old for him but I figured he would learn the dinos names if we worked on it. I would read him the name on the card and describe the Dinosaur to him.  He would then look for that dino and match the name card to the correct dinosaur. He now knows that a brontosaurus has a long neck, a T-Rex has a big mouth and short arms, the Triceratops has 3 horns, and the Pterodactyl has wings and looks like a bird.
We Had a great time playing the Dinosaur Game!

We are having Dino cakes (rice cakes) and watching We're back for our snack time.  Dinosaur day is so much fun.  After his nap we are going to Paint the Dinosaur plates (more clearance goodies my Mom found!) and after dinner we are going Dinosaur Hunting! (I will gather his dinosaur toys and hide them outside, we search the yard looking for them.  The best part of this is Dominic calls the fallen walnuts "Dinosaur poop" so I will use them as clues to find the dinos! )

Toddlers are so much fun, check back often to see what other learning adventures this Proud Mommy and her Amazing 2 Year Old will share!!

January 19th- Building blocks

I absolutely enjoy Dominic at this age! I have always enjoyed him but it's so interesting and fun to experience each new day of learning. Every single day Dominic learns something new whether good or bad haha. He has new sounds, words, abilities and intelligence. Just today I was playing with him on the floor and was showing how to place his stacking blocks inside each other. I showed him a few times with a blue circle block placing it inside the hole of his ring stackers. He loved this and picked up on the concept very quickly. He would try blocks that were too big and I would show him the correct ones and after only a few short tries he figured it out. I then showed him how his stacker cups would fit inside of each other. He did excellent as this!

When his Daddy got home we showed him while we were making dinner that Dominic could put the cup inside the rings. Dominic knows he got it right because he would look up at Mommy and smile knowing I would praise him for getting it right. That alone was amazing!! Mommy and Daddy got curious later while playing on the floor if Dominic could stack a set of three objects. We had a blue circle block and 2 sizes of cups. We placed them in front of him in ascending size order. I showed Dominic a few times how the they fit inside each other. After I would show him I would say" It's your turn can you do it?" I would then point to the blue block then the yellow cup as I would say" Put the blue block into the yellow cup" Dominic proceded to do just these. Then as I had done before pointing to the correct object" Put the yellow cup into the red cup" and he did it as well!!! Each time he would look up with a smile and we would praise him. We did this several times before I thought I need to take a video of this, but unfortunately by this time he was bored with the game and wanted to play with his other toys.

This learning experience was so exciting to all of us. I am so thankful the whole family got to be apart of teaching Dominic the basics of stacking. I can't wait to play again tomorrow and hopefully get a video or two!!

Your Baby Can Read: Start of DVD 2

Today we started the second DVD in Your Baby Can Read series. We were suppose to start it about a week ago but with the holidays and all the traveling we didn't get to watch it as much as I felt he needed and after some advice from some fellow YBCR forum reader I decided to push back the start of the second DVD.

This morning I got out the corresponding books for the Second DVD and went over them with Dominic. I then put in the DVD while Dominic was just playing on the floor. Normally I put him in his high chair with some snack because he is so active he gets sidetracked easily. I did it differently this morning mostly so I could watch it through and see all the words that will be reviewed and to see what songs will be played so we can do them while the video isn't on.

To my surprise as soon as Dominic heard the ignition what is known as the YBCR Music he looked up at the TV and just stared (Dominic doesn't pay much attention to the TV by the way) He then crawled in my lap and watched the video. Just as he had done before he would watch the word and as soon as he saw it he would look back at me expecting me to repeat the word and make a sound or do an action. I was so excited that he was really into watching the DVD. The 2 songs for this video are "Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes" and " If your Happy and you Know It" I am happy they are doing the Head and Shoulders song because I have shown that to Dominic before and he gets a kick out of me doing it. I can't wait til he starts doing the actions as well!!

While watching the video I decided I would get out the toys he has that match the words reviewed. For example one of the words is Giraffe and he has a toy giraffe. A couple more are bucket and blanket that I can physically show him. I think that will be just an added stimuli to learning if he can physically see and item and be told what it is then link that to his "Words" as we call it here in the stack house.

Later on this afternoon during snack time I will show him the video again and of course go over the books a few times with him. He still loves the books. I am curious if I should periodically put in the first DVD for a review of the past words? I plan to continue to show him the books to keep the words fresh, and a few of them are repeated in the second DVD such as the body parts and hi, and wave.

So far we are enjoying the program, or course I am not sure if he is learning because he doesn't talk but I have a feeling he will surprise us one day by repeated a word or two or properly naming his toys!

Your Baby Can Read- One Week In

Dominic was not interested in the video at all but after talking to some very helpful ladies on a YBCR forum about how to get active children to get interested things are going well. Today I put Dominic in his high chair gave him some vanilla wafers and his sippie and stood by him to watch the video. He watched the word and as soon as they said it he would look at me ready for me to do the action or make the animal sound. I was surprised but it's how I have been watching the video with him, I would repeat the world and do the action and after only a few showings of the video dominic picked up on that fact. Another new thing today was while twinkle twinkle little star song was on he was talking the whole time almost as if he was singing with it!! When itsy bitsy spider came one I did all the actions and he laughed the whole time!

We are only watching the video once a day but are working on getting up to the recommended 2 times or more. We do go over the pull cards and flip book several times a day because Dominic really enjoys them.

Your Baby Can Read- The Begining

I am terrible with keeping up with Naps and Nipples I have several I need to post as soon as I put the pics with them... so sorry. When Daddy is off this weekend Mommy is going to get his updated I promise!

Ok so here is an addition to Naps and Nipples, Your Baby Can Read Updates. Recently Dominic and I started the Your Baby Can Read program and have been updating friends and family through notes on facebook. It just dawned on me, "Um Shelli you need to do updates on Naps and Nipples too!"

So here is the start of YBCR updates:

Today I got in the Your Baby Can Read program in the mail. Right away I put in the parents starter DVD and much to my surprise found out I knew more about teaching my child then I thought. According to Dr. Bob theories and methods I have done a good job so far with Dominic. Some of the keys concepts are repeating a word and showing the word. Also questioning. For instance when the child wants something don't just go get it ask them about it give them a few choices to choose from also narrating your day. We are going to take a bath, going for a walk an so forth. We have always done that which is why Dominic knows what I mean when I say do you want to take a bath, would you like some cereal, wheres doggie. Another key point in child development is getting excited when your child makes a sound that resembles a word. Dr. Bob said that when you get excited about when your child makes a word like sound for example Ba ( he said bottle!) you are giving that sound a value which tells the child what he did is important and makes them want to do it more and try new sounds. I am one of those overly excited parents who gets excited about his new "word" all the time.

I am super excited to read through my parents starter guide book and watch the first DVD with Dominic. This program may not work for us but I already think the $14.95 trial fee is well worth the money because I feel better about my parenting skills and am more confident that I can teach my child properly. I honestly believe if I stick with this program it will work for us but we will have to give it a try to see pig I am right. I am going to try to keep y'all updated on our progress because I know several of my parent friends have been wondering about this program.

Well we are off to eat some cereal and then will start the program wish us luck and stay tuned...

Nov 12th & Nov 13th

November 12th:

Dominic was a very good boy today. He sat and played while Mommy cleaned up the Livingroom. Unfortunately Dominic is still scared to death of the vacuum cleaner. We are working on getting him over that. At first he was scared of the food processor, the sound bothered him. We broke this by picking him up and taking him over to the processor and showing him it wasn't hurting him. I tried with the vacuum but it didn't work. He did touch it when it was off so that is a start.

Unlike yesterday Dominic would not give us kisses. Not even his Mommy. He wouldn't let us kiss him he would turn his head away. I guess he got too many yesterday!

November 13th:

While Mommy was doing laundry Dominic was being a very good little helper... well he thought he was. He took the clothes out of the basket and tried to give them back to me. He also took all my hangers and moved them out of my way haha so he thought. He was very entertained with the hangers.

Today for solid foods all Dominic wanted was Squash and Vanilla wafers. He had them for lunch, dinner and as one of his snacks!!

Speaking of snacks today Mommy made Dominic his own trail mix. Mommy put mini vanilla wafers, whole grain cheerios, veggie baby cheetos, and 2 flavors of yogurt drops. Dominic likes each of these snacks and I try to change what I give him each day so he doesn't get bored with an particular snack. With the trail mix he picks out what he wants eats it and goes back for more. It was fun to watch him pick and choose and get excited by what he eats!

Nov 11th: My Dorky Boy

Check out Nov 10th for picture updates: Click Here

November 11th: My Dorky Boy

During Lunch Mommy made her some fries. When it was time to take them out of the deep fryer I put Dominic in his PNP which made him very mad. I went ahead and took out my fries and while getting everything together I noticed Dominic stopped crying and laughing. I looked over to find the strangest and funnest thing! Dominic was standing up and had come out of his pants!!!

I laughed so hard grabbed my phone and hollered at Dominic was able to snap this super cute picture!!

Later in the evening Dominic was being a little sweetheart. When Mommy kisses him on the cheek I say kiss. Today when I did this he turned his head opened his mouth wide and stuck it on my check. This is how he kisses. Mommy told him "Thank You," and kissed his other cheek. Once again he kissed me back. He repeated this 3 times before he got sidetracked by a toy. I told Daddy all about the kisses when he got home. He sat down kissed Dominic and just as I had done said Kiss when he did so. I was expecting him to kiss his Daddy back but that little monster turned his head away from his Daddy and had the biggest smile on his face. Daddy tried again and Dominic turned his head away again with that goofy grin. Sometimes our little man is quite the stinker!!!

Nov 10th

Nov 10th:

Today the whole family went shopping. Dominic was a very good boy. He did try to grab a few items he believed we needed. Dominic entertained himself most of the shopping trip by banging on the chip bags. Thankfully it was Daddy's lunch mini bags of lunch chips so they were double bagged.

We dis try a new combination for Dominic's cereal this morning. Cinnamon apple oatmeal and he absolutely loved it!!

Nov 9:

Today was a pretty normal day. Dominic did have a new fruit combination for his cereal this morning. He had banana blueberry it smelled so yummy. Almost made me want some oatmeal... Almost!

Nov 8:

First off Dominic slept 9 hours with only one wake up and with a little soothing he went right back to sleep. The best part is Mommy got to sleep 6 solid hours!! I woke up several hours before everyone refreshed.

Dominic and Mommy went for a walk today. We walked to the library which is a little over 4 blocks. On our way back we stopped off at diary queen where Daddy meet up with us and Dominic and I shared a Sunday! We then went to the store picked up some groceries and back to home we went.

This wore Dominic out and he took a little nap while Mommy and Daddy played a game. We had a great day!!!!

Nov 7:

Dominic smiled up at me today and I noticed something... Another Tooth!!! My baby boy is getting in his second tooth. It us barely visible you can just see the top coming through. This tooth explains why he wouldn't eat solids yesterday it must have hurt but never acted like it did.

Dominic did eat a little bit of solids today. He did have his oatmeal cereal with bananas. For lunch he had his nasty mixture of peas and apricots until he got mad at Mommy. After about half the bowl Mommy took a napkin and cleaned off his messy face. Apparently he didn't think he needed this done bc he got down right mad at me. Once he got upset he refused to eat, Dominic has a temper at times. Mommy tried to get him to eat but gave up and ended up making a bottle about 20 minutes later. My sweet little boy can be a monster sometimes!!

Nov 6

First off Dominic did not go to sleep until 4 am this morning!
Today was a great family day. While in town we ate at Long John's and of course that meant Mommy had to take pics of Dominic in the pirate hat!
When we got home the whole family played together and had a great night!
The only downfall was Dominic would not eat any solids today not even his banana cereal which is very odd!

Starting again... Nov 1st-Nov 5th

Hello we are back!! I am so sorry that I haven't been posting in quite some time. There are millions of reason why. I was going to do a "back log" but that would take FOREVER, so I decided I would do a mass post today to cover starting from the first of this month to the 5th and hopefully (thanks to my new mobile posting) I will be able to get back into the groove to posting daily.

I will say some days may be more of a facebook status/tweeter update kinda post. What I mean by that is there are days that are "same ol' same ol'" so on these days I may just state something simple. Other days are full of crazy silly stories and exciting development occurrences. Dominic is growing and developing so much lately. It is so exciting and half the time I can't keep calm with all my excitement. You can ask my poor husband who has been woken up many nights to come see the new tooth, or watch him do something he hasn't done before. Being the good Daddy he is most nights he pulls himself out out of bed and half asleep indulges me in my uncontainable excitement!

In future post I may not post corresponding pics that night when I initially do the post. I will try to hope on a least once a week and put on those pictures. When I do I will have a *NOTE at the top of the next post stating that I added pictures and will post the link below for quick clicking to see the updates.

Ok here goes on my new start to Naps and Nipples, I hope you continue to enjoy and please feel free to comment, and send me messages on facebook to remind me if I forget haha which sad to say with my Mushy Mommy Brain may very well happen!

Nov 1st:

Today Dominic decided he was going to help Mommy with the laundry. Daily I try to keep up with laundry which sadly doesn't always happen. I have recently found that if I put him in his saucer or his bumbo he "allows" me to get a least a load done if I give him a few toys and some clothes to occupy his time. When I say give him some clothes I mean I get one of the empty clothes baskets put in a towel or article of clothing into that basket and let Dominic "help" Mommy with the laundry. My little stinker especially likes it when I put folded clothes in the basket because he then "corrects my folding" haha ok he unfolds it munches on it and then toses it aside for me to wash again. I know it may sound tedious to wash the clothes more than once but when you find something that makes an infant/toddler happy you do whatever it takes to keep that happiness going!

Dominic normally loves his veggies, infact until we tried meats he loved every kind of baby we tried. I recently started making my own baby food. I thought maybe the Jared to Fresh caused Dominic to no longer like it veggies but after researching and asking many friends and family I found out it is normally for kids Dominic age to go anti-veggie. I am trying every thing I can think of and hopefully soon he will get back on his veggie kick.

Speaking of Veggies while going through some next size up baby clothes I found a cute little sweet pea costume I had orginally bought for me niece but obviously never sent it to her. Once I looked at it and realized Dominic could fit in it I had to put it on him. Not surprisingly it wouldn't zip over his big ol' head but other than that it was all too cute. I brought him to his Daddy whom shook his head in silliness, to take pictures of my little pea. I took so many but only a few came out because he would not stop bouncing. (Dominic's favorite thing to do besides stand on his own) I am happy to say those that did turn out where OH SO ADORABLE!! My poor son will one day look back at me and think "Mom!! What were you thinking?!?" but that is all part of a Mother's job... embarrass the children!!

As you can tell today was very eventful and the end of the day was not much different. When Daddy decided to head to bed we followed him in there to say goodnight. Dominic was sitting on the bed talking to his Daddy when Daddy started mocking all Dominic's sounds. Evertime Daddy would do this Dominic would respond with a loud and longer sound and would lean in to show he meant business. This went on for nearly 20 minutes. Mommy was laughing so hard I thought I was going to roll off the bed. I wish I could describe this well enough for you to fully understand how funny and intriguing this little incident was.

Nov 2nd:

Dominic made Mommy proud today. On his saucer he has a bee that when you pull on him comes out of his hive and then goes back in. Now this bee is hard to pull out and Dominic has never been able to do this. While picking up the living room I had placed Dominic in his saucer to play. (and stay in one place haha) As I walked into the kitchen I heard the sound the bee makes when he goes back in his hive. I kinda hid behind the couch to watch as Dominic would pull the bee out and stare as it went back in. He would get all excited and do it again over and over again. Finally he noticed Mommy and smiled up at me with his super sweet smile. After that he lost interest and moved on to another toy on his saucer. I was so proud of him and amazed, just yesterday he couldn't do that. It is so amazing how quickly they learn and figure things out!!

I am not sure if Dominic was teething or just worn out but today Dominic only ate his morning cereal and didn't want any other solids. He took several bottles which as of late is unusual for him. He also could seem to be able to stay awake he took 4 naps but each nap was only about 20 minutes each. Normally Dominic fights and fights sleep but at one point he was sitting up on the couch with me when he crawled to my lap laid his head down on my lap and fell right to sleep. It was so sweet but I knew that meant he was super exhausted.

Nov 3rd:

While in the bath tonight Dominic did the cutest thing.... he tried to grab the bubbles produced from his baby wash. These bubbles where tiny and barely visible. I didn't even notice them until I couldn't figure out what Dominic was grabbing at in the water. I looked closely and realized it was the bubbles he was trying to pick up. How cute is that??

Late tonight about 11pm Dominic and I started to play ball. We recently got him a mini basketball so I could start to teach him how to play "baby catch." Baby catch is rolling the ball back and forth. I had tried this a few times since we got the ball a week ago but Dominic would keep the ball and go about his business. Tonight that all changed!! I rolled the ball to him and said "Can you give it back to Mommy." When I said this Dominic grabbed the ball with both hands and pushed it towards me like " Here you go Mommy." I was so excited but thought maybe it was a fluke so I tried again and to my surprise he returned the ball the same way. I got super excited and made Daddy get out of bed to watch us play catch. When Daddy came to watch we started to play again and he returned the ball by pushing it with both hands on either side of the ball again, and a few times he smacked it with the back of his hands until it rolled to me. Each time he did this I would clap and say "You did it" which of course made him happy and excited. After a little while he got bored and wanted to play with his truck. I have to say it was a proud moment for Mommy to experience a learning moment with my son!!

This is not a picture of him playing but one of him when we got the ball but it was too cute not to share!

Nov 4th:

As I said a few days ago Dominic is on a anti-veggie kick. I got worried about him only eating fruits so I called my Baby expert The Great Grandma Nan and asked what I should do. She suggested I give him a couple bites of fruit and then sneak in a bite of veggies. I tried this but my keen son caught on so I tried a little variation to this technique. I put a bite of peas on the spoon and and bite of apricot all at the same time and gave it to him thinking "its a long shot but why not try it." You will never believe this but that child absolutely loved it! He wanted more! He ended up eating 3 icecubes worth of peas ( I make my own food remember) a whole 4 oz tub of apricot, was still hungry so he then had a 6 oz jar of citrus baby yogurt, and a handful of his whole wheat cheerios!!

Nov 5th:

Today we went to the mall to take in Daddy's PS3 to see if we could get it fixed. Dominic absolutely loves the mall. He gets to be in his "Ride", that is what we call his giant but awesome stroller we got. Not only is he cruising in his ride but he gets to look at all the people and get all people's attention. Every time a girl or child walked by there were "Awe look at the cute baby" and naturally Dominic would smile at them or shy away either way it would get him more attention. I have a warning to all the little girls Dominic's age when they are older: Beware of Dominic he is already a little charmer, and he will one day be breaking the hearts all over the place. He is just like his Daddy and knows how to turn on the charm which is going to get him into some trouble one day just ask his Daddy!!

This picture was taken about a month ago but I had to show you one of him in his "Ride"

Well there you go all caught up for this month now to keep up with it this time. As I said with my new phone I have been keeping notes of happenings and am able to post from my phone so even if there are no pics at the time of posting I should post daily. Please check back often to keep up on Naps and Nipples: a Day in the Life of Dominic Stack!!
Blogging from my iPhone

Well I am trying something new and hopefully it works because it would make life so much simpler for me. I am going to try to make my Naps and Nipples post from my phone I will go back and add pics when I get a chance, if that happens I will be sure to say so on the next post so you can go back and see. Well Dominic is still awake and crying again so g'night for now...

Naps and Nipples: July 25th

July 25th- My silly boy

Tonight Dominic was chilling out with Daddy watching TV and telling his Daddy all about his day. He was laying on Daddy’s lap when he turned him self sideways and started watching TV with his head upside down. It was so funny because Daddy would move him and he would put himself right back in that spot and continue to watch TV that way. I swear my boy is a dork! But a sweet and adorable dork!

Naps and Nipples: July 23rd and 24th

July 23rd- Loving Tummy Time

Today Mommy was so excited. Dominic finally decided he liked Tummy time. He played on his boppy for over an half hour. As of late Dominic plays more than half of the day. He is getting more and more coordinated everyday. We have so much fun each and every day!!

July24th- Shopping Cart Fun

Today we decided rather than going into town we would just grocery shop at our local Mom n Pop Shop. They have small grocery carts so Mommy and Daddy put Dominic in the cart in the front part like a big boy. Mommy had to hold his back since he still can’t sit up by himself just yet. Dominic had a blast. It was a whole new view for him. He held on to the front of the cart and just looked around at everything. Dominic is getting to be such a big boy!

Naps and Nipples: July 22nd

July 22nd- I’m gonna get you

Today Mommy and Dominic had a blast together. We put a big sheet on the floor again and sat down to play with Dominic’s toys. Mommy put all Dominic’s toys in a plastic bin that we turn on it side so Dominic can pick which toys he wants. Today he was all about his spiral rattle. While in a sitting position he would bend basically in half and reach out to get his rattle and once he got a hold of it he would shake it like crazy. He hits himself in the head all the time and anymore it doesn’t phase him at all.

While playing on the sheet Mommy had Dominic sitting between her legs. I was talking to my Mother on the phone and felt him swaying, it was then I realized he was holding himself in the sitting position all by himself. None of his body was touching me; he was sitting up all by himself!! I was so excited!! Mommy and Daddy will have to get him a Bumbo seat I bet he will love it!

As we have in the past Mommy put Dominic’s animal booties on. (Which are getting too small.) He loves to play with the booties; tonight he was very picky about those booties. Like yesterday he would put the bootie in his mouth. I noticed he only put the right foot in that had the elephant on it. Out of curiosity I switched the booties to opposite feet and he just stared at them and tried to get the monkey but lost interest very quickly. Mommy then switched them back and as soon as he noticed the elephant was back on his right foot POP right into the mouth it went. I imagine he likes the elephant because it is easy to get a hold of by why just the right foot, I guess we will never know.

Naps and Nipples: July 21st

July21st- Too much fun!

Dominic was a real hoot today. Mommy and Dominic got out a sheet and laid it on the living room floor so we would have lots of play space. While sitting up facing Mommy Dominic would lean forward and bury his face on Mommy. When I turned him facing out he did the same thing to the boppy. I know he HATES tummy time but since he was doing this burying his face thing I thought I would try laying him on his belly. At first he just laid there staring at the toys and the he started scooting. It’s hard to describe he was almost crawling without using his arms; he would just move his legs back and forth and scoot on his belly. He went about 2 feet and got upset so that was the end of tummy time for awhile. Mommy was amazed at this mostly because it’s a good sign and maybe just maybe he will begin to enjoy tummy time soon, and who knows maybe even crawl!

Later in the afternoon Dominic was playing in his pack and play while Mommy was making up bottles. He had his animal booties on and out of corner of my eye I thought I saw him put his foot in his mouth. My eyes weren’t deceiving me he was putting his foot in his mouth, rather the animal on the bootie but his toes where in there just the same. Mommy took off the booties and he tried to get his feet to his mouth and pretty much did but I guess it just wasn’t as much fun as the animals so I put them back on and Dominic entertained himself for nearly an half hour!

Naps and Nipples: July 20th

July 20th- Little stinker

Today Dominic tried a new baby food flavor, carrots. He wasn’t sure about them at first but after a few bites he devoured his cereal. He has spit up more than he has lately but that could be due to the fact that keeping Dominic still after eating is next to impossible. He is so playful lately he is always wiggling around or his fingers are shoved in his mouth.

During dinner time Dominic was laying in his Pack n Play playing away with his Horsey. He was having such a good time. The Horsey is as big as him but he can hold on to the neck and hooves and slobber all over the nose.

Here lately Dominic has been squealing, holler, and screaming when he is playing. We were on the phone with his Nan when he started this. I bet we didn’t hear half of the conversation due to how loud he got. He really got excited when he Deedaw talked to him on the phone. Afterward we called Grandma Theresa so she could hear and he stopped until right when we hung up the phone. He can be such a little stinker at times when we are trying to share with the family.

Naps and Nipples: July 19th

July 19th- Pack n Play

Because Dominic is getting so big we can no longer us the bassinet to lay him in when Mommy has to use the restroom or whatnot. Tonight we got out the Pack n Play, cleaned it up from being packed away for so long and laid him in it. It didn’t bother him so we tried again while Mommy and Daddy where making dinner. We sat him up in the corner and put the boppy around him so he could sit up by himself. This worked pretty good for a while but after throwing his frog out of his reach he toppled over trying to get it back. Mommy was so proud of him for playing all by himself, and happy that I have somewhere to put him for a little while so I can get some house chores done and got to the bathroom.
